Team-Teach

What is Team-Teach?
Our aim is to increase staff confidence and competence enabling them to respond to challenging behaviour through the use of risk assessment and restraint reduction, this supports teaching and learning, providing a caring environment by developing and promoting positive relationships.

Why use Team-Teach?
Team-Teach training has received a government national training award (see Team-Teach website).  Through the support infrastructure, robust quality control and assurance processes the training helps staff manage challenging behaviour by giving them the skills to both deescalate situations and where absolutely necessary use physical intervention safely and confidently.

Why come to us?
After several years of delivering training to our own staff we are now in a position to offer outstanding training to others. Our trainers, Alex Field and Jodie Anderson, have over 13 years’ experience in using Team-Teach techniques in a learning environment.

As well as offering delegates the opportunities to attend an open training session on an individual basis at our venue, we can also offer closed, bespoke training, which will be personalised to specific needs for different learning environment, involving de-escalation and physical intervention. Our training builds staff confidence and competence enabling them to become skilled practitioners.

Alex Field is a humanities teacher who has worked in both mainstream secondary and special needs schools.  Jodie Anderson is a Learning Support Assistant who has worked with special needs for the last nine years.

We deliver friendly and personalised training to meet the specific needs of the staff.  We identify issues and provide strategies and techniques to tackle individual problems building staff confidence and competence enabling them to become skilled practitioners.

What we can offer?

Two Day Intermediate Training (12 hours- this can be whole days or twilight* training)

This training is the initial Team-Teach Training course that is aimed at services including Mainstream Secondary, Primary Schools, Special Schools, PRU’s etc. This course covers: personal safety, specific risk reductions strategies, a range of positive handling and interventions, together with a focus on policy, documentation and legal guidance. On successful completion of the course the trainee will receive a certificate which is valid for 24 months.

Cost per person £160**

Refresher Courses (6 hours-this can be whole day or twilights*)

This training is aimed at trainees who have previously trained in Team Teach and who hold a certificate which is less than 24 months old. This course will remind and refresh previously trained staff of the Team- Teach aims, principles, strategies and techniques including updates in practice. On successful completion of the course the training will receive a certificate which is valid for 24 months.
